Get started with Cedar

You can create Cedar and start using Pocket without a seed phrase. You need a device, browser, or password manager that supports passkeys.

  1. Open the Cedar web app.
  2. Choose Create wallet.
  3. Name and create your passkey.
  4. Complete the system passkey prompt.

Your passkey signs you in and approves normal Pocket actions. Cedar does not receive the passkey’s private key.

Already have an account? Choose Sign in with passkey. Normal sign-in uses the last Cedar passkey you used; choose Use another passkey when you want a different account.

Pocket may show an address before activation, so it can receive funds first. It cannot send, sign messages, or approve app transactions until you activate it.

  1. Open Pocket.
  2. Choose Activate.
  3. Review the networks and fee information Cedar shows.
  4. Approve with your passkey.

Cedar activates every required network as one resumable action. A finished network becomes usable immediately while the remaining work continues. If a network needs funds for its fee, Cedar names the network and shows what to do.

  1. Select a network shown in Cedar.
  2. Choose Receive and copy your Pocket address.
  3. Request a small amount of test tokens from a faucet on the same network.
  4. When the balance appears, choose Send and enter a small amount.
  5. On Review, check the wallet, network, token, amount, and recipient.
  6. Approve with your passkey, then follow the result in Activity.

An unavailable balance is unknown, not zero. Use Retry and wait for Cedar to confirm it before sending.

  • Pocket shows Send and Receive.
  • Activity has no unfinished activation action.
  • Your selected network and balance match the tokens you requested.
